Cancer Ghosting: The Kind of Haunting No One Warns You About
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I learned something few people talk about: sometimes, the ones you expect to show up, don’t.
I thought my friends would be my lifeline. Instead, some of them disappeared.
Their silence was louder than any words.
At first, I tried to understand, telling myself they were scared or didn’t know what to say.
But as days turned into weeks, the emptiness they left behind became another kind of pain to carry.
Cancer didn’t just test my strength—it revealed who could truly stand beside me in the dark.
The positive part: despite the silence, eventually I found connection in new friendships from a local support group, in quiet acts of love, and in the strength I never knew I had.
