Meet Jen
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 39, my world was turned upside down in an instant.
I craved connection with someone who had been in my shoes — a married mom of young kids, working full-time, facing a similar diagnosis and treatment plan.
I needed more than sympathy. I needed guidance, hope, and proof that I could get through this.
During 14 months of active treatment, including 4.5 months of chemo, two things helped me heal and thrive. They were the same two things that carried me through a prior jaw surgery, a layoff at work, and two years of infertility struggles:
having a positive mindset, and leaning on my support squad.
Sadly, too many women face similar journeys feeling isolated, discouraged, or unseen.
As a User Experience (UX) designer, I’ve spent my career creating digital experiences that make people feel understood, empowered, and supported. Once I was cancer-free, I wanted to help other breast cancer warriors, survivors, and thrivers feel the same way.
So I created Positive By Design — a space created to share all the things I wished I had known, found, or created for myself throughout my journey.
Through thoughtful design, uplifting content, and community-driven inspiration, Positive By Design reminds us that positive results don’t happen by chance; they’re something we intentionally design.
I’m honored to walk beside an incredible community of pink sisters who have held space for my grief, fear, and hope, and surrounded me with additional support over the past 2.5 years.
With gratitude and love,
Jen 💗
