January is Cervical Health Awareness Month
January is Cervical Health Awareness Month—a reminder to learn and talk about cervical cancer, and how to prevent it.
In the U.S., about 1 in 10,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year and in 2025, more than 13,000 women were diagnosed.
The good news is that cervical cancer is almost entirely preventable.
With regular Pap and/or HPV testing and HPV vaccination, abnormal cells can be found and treated early—before cancer develops.
Some research has also indicated a possible link between HPV and breast cancer. Even though HPV has been detected in some breast cancer cells, it’s still unclear what role the virus may play.
If you’re between 21 and 65, and especially if you’re a breast cancer survivor, prioritizing regular checkups and screenings matters.
Prevention and early detection save lives. 🩵🤍🩷
