A Haircut That Would Have Ruined My Day Before Breast Cancer
A few days after I shaved my head during chemo, I got a picture from my in-laws who were watching the boys.
One of them had gotten a hold of scissors and cut his hair. 😳
The old me—the very Type-A, everything-must-go-as-planned me—probably would have been furious.
I would have worried about how he’d look in his upcoming birthday pictures, and wondered how I was going to fix it.
But chemo had already started changing my perspective.
I looked at the picture and laughed.
It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't worth stressing over either. It was summer, so we buzzed his hair… and suddenly, we were hair twins. 💕
And honestly? I loved it.
One of the unexpected things cancer taught me was that not everything needs to become a problem. Sometimes you just need to pause, take a breath, and ask yourself: “Is this actually worth my worry?”
You never know when the thing you thought would ruin your day might end up being something that makes you smile. 🙂
