6 Books That Gave Me Hope When I Needed It Most
From printed books to audiobooks, reading is a magical escape. This week, we celebrate Read Across America Week. ๐
Mysteries are usually my favorite genre, but after being diagnosed with breast cancer, I found myself drawn to books that inspired me and gave me hope.
During my 14 months of active treatment, I read 15 booksโa new record for me. Some helped take my mind off things, while others focused on design and leadership, and gave me a chance to keep growing professionally.
The Top Six
These were the most books I found to be the most positive and uplifting:
Dare to Lead by Brenรฉ Brown
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey
Inspired by Marty Cagan
One-Minute Mindfulness by Donald Altman
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
And my favorite for breast cancer warriors:
Uplift (Secrets from the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer Survivors) by Barbara Delinsky
No matter what challenge youโre facing, books like these can offer inspiration, perspective, and a reminder that brighter chapters are always ahead. ๐
